Contusion Records is an independent, sibling-run music label rooted in the Greater Houston area and driven by a single belief: sound matters. Founded by siblings Terry and Lisa Barfield, the label exists to explore music that carries weight—sonically, emotionally, and energetically. We’re not interested in trends or tidy categories. We’re drawn to sound with character, intention, and something to say.
We are story-led and music-fed. Every release begins with a spark—an idea, a feeling, a fracture—and builds outward through sound, lyric, and atmosphere.
