Contusion Records is a sibling-run creative music studio based in the Greater Houston area, built on a simple belief: sound matters.
Founded by Terry and Lisa Barfield, the label exists to develop music with weight—sonically, emotionally, and atmospherically. We’re not interested in trends or tidy categories. We’re drawn to projects with identity, intention, and something real to say.
We are story-led and music-fed. Every release begins with a spark—an idea, a tension, a feeling—and expands outward into sound, imagery, and atmosphere.
